Flute Classes & WorkshopsHigh up in the mountains, where the air is fresher and thinner, is a perfect place to develop your playing stamina and breathing. We tailor the teaching to the ambitions of those on the course, but will usually include workshops covering:
PerformancesDuring the week, we perform two concerts. A warm up rehearsal concert on the terrace of the course chalet, followed by the final performance to an appreciative audience at the Auberge du Croix mountaintop restaurant, where owner Gisele makes sure we are very welcome and well-fed! WellbeingFresh air and a fresh mind. Take some time away from rush hours and social media (though we do have Wifi!), eat well, and make new friends. We start each morning with an optional yoga session to wake you up gently, followed by a slow-paced breakfast before flute sessions begin for the day. |
Ensemble PlayingThroughout the week there are lots of opportunities to form smaller ensembles and learn new pieces together. We have plenty of music of all standards, but if there is something you want to learn, bring it along with you. The ensembles will be mentored, and you will have the opportunity to perform in the final concert. You will also have the chance to try your hand at the Alto and Bass flutes too. Food and drinkStart off the day with a healthy breakfast of freshly-made bread from the local village bakery, preserves, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, coffee and tea. Lunch will be buffet-style, and include light options such as salads, local cheeses and meats. We will be serving a home-cooked meal with wine in the evenings - please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will be happy to cater for you. |
